Last year we decided to update all the windows in our 20+ years old house. Since investment was significant we did a lot of research and got a total of 8 quotes including big names and some smaller reputable contractors.

Our selection priorities were: quality of product, price, warranty, and reputation of installer, in that order. After comparing all our alternatives we decided to go with [Bayou City Windows] because they offered us a good balance between quality and price. Before signing with them we got our hands in real samples of our top 3 alternatives and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product that Michael offered to us. The manufacturer of the windows that we got installed is NT Window, a Texas based company that also offers a very nice warranty.

After signing the contract it took a bit over 3 months to get the windows installed. Most of the quotes that we got had similar time frames because in replacement projects windows are custom made to fit the existing openings, so we were not surprised by the schedule.

We were a little worried about the installation because we have two little boys and according to our research it is normal to have glass and debris flying all over the place in this type of project. Also, it was going to be in the middle of the summer so we didn’t want to have huge openings in our house for more than one day. However, Michael sent a large crew that completed the installation of all the windows of our 2 story house in less than a day. I’m a picky guy so at first I was a little skeptical about the quality of the installation but all the guys seemed to know very well what they were doing; they were very careful and professional, and took good care of all our stuff.

The only issue that we had was that a couple of windows were manufactured with the wrong grid pattern so they had to re-manufacture and install the glasses again. The replacement took a little longer than expected but in the end we are very happy with the final result.

Overall a very good experience. My only advice if you are planning to get into a windows replacement project is do your research and be patient because its not something that you’ll get done in a few weeks.
